Ever since I was a young girl, I had an ear for a story. Although, I always harbored a secret wish to be a storyteller. Taking to heart George Eliot’s words, “it is never too late to be what you might have been,” I reinvented myself as an author so I can share stories with readers wherever I find them.

I was born and raised in Watsonville, California, a third-generation Croatian-American whose great, great uncles were pioneers in the town's apple industry which they helped develop into the Apple Capital of the World. After graduating UCLA with a political science degree, I headed east for a job on Capitol Hill. But while I may have left California, it never left me, and I remain a California Girl.

Now I live in Connecticut with my husband in the place we’ve called home for thirty years. Our three children make the annual trek for the holidays and we visit them often as well. Life is good.
